We
are always interested to hear from people who want to give their time to
help the Bureau in a variety of ways, including advice work, reception
and admin duties and from people who feel they could contribute by
joining our Board of Trustees.
The Bureau is looking to
recruit volunteers from currently under-represented groups, including young people,
people with disabilities, people with caring responsibilities and people
from ethnic minorities. The 1st floor private office area is accessible to
anyone who can negotiate the stair lift and we are able to pay our
voluntary staff travel expenses and care costs they incur as a result of working with us
in the Bureau.
Volunteers who would like to become advice workers will have to commit to an extensive training programme, both
in the Bureau and at external facilities. A detailed account of the
activities of volunteer advice workers is shown on our National
Headquarters site

As well as advice workers, the Bureau needs to recruit
receptionists - people who can make our clients feel welcome and
comfortable when they ring for an appointment or sit waiting in the
reception area. This is not quite such a big commitment, but it is
necessary to offer at least one half a day per week on a regular
basis. We are also interested to hear from people who may want to help
with a range of administrative tasks.
At present we have
vacancies in our reception team.
